Project 365 – Day 158: Clock Man and a Cadillac

June 06 2012

Walking along rue Sainte Catherine this afternoon, I noticed these figures above the Promenades Cathédrale shopping mall entrances promoting a sales event that takes place each day between 12-2 and 4-6. The campaign seemed to be getting attention as I saw quite a few tourists snapping shots of the clock head figures towering over the sidewalk.

Outside one of the mall entrances were a couple of street artists drawing a chalk mural on the pavement – Why they were drawing the Toronto skyline in Montreal I’m not quite sure.

Parked further down the street was a nice old Cadillac, I decided to give the image a bit of a vintage look.

My last shot of the day was at the fountains in Place des Festivals. I thought it was a good opportunity to try out my new 70-300 lens and was pretty pleased at the quality given this image has been cropped pretty tight and taken at maximum focal length.

The Places des Festivals is in the final throws of getting ready for the 24th edition of the FrancoFolies festival that kicks off with Pierre LaPointe tomorrow night and runs to the 16th June…With the F1 Grand Prix in town, Montreal will be party town this weekend 🙂 So lots to shoot the next few days !
